Franco-Italo-Monegasque Intervention
Plan to combat accidental marine pollution in the Ramoge zone
An Intervention Plan
to combat accidental pollution, known as the RAMOGEPOL
Plan, has been drawn up in the framework of the RAMOGE Agreement
and was adopted by the three participating States in 1993.
The application zone of this Intervention
Plan takes the form of a trapezium centred on Sardinia and Corsica;
its longitudinal boundaries are the mouth of the Grand Rhône
and the Capo d'Anzio light.
The zone comprises two sub-zones: in the first joint resources are
automatically made available; in the second joint operations are launched
only on request from the national authority concerned.

In the framework of the RAMOGEPOL Plan, simulations
of reactions to accidental pollution (involving considerable human
and physical resources) and meetings between the authorities of the
three countries are organized every year. These activities enable
the authorities of the three countries:
- to ensure faster reaction in the event of a genuine case of pollution
- to develop new technical solutions
- to obtain better understanding of the their anti-pollution organizations
and thereby develop their respective systems on the basis of shared
experience.
